Srinagar: Clashes broke out in Muran village of South Kashmir's Pulwama district after local youth pelted stones on army vehicles.
Eyewitnesses said that Army vehicles appeared in Muran this morning that were stoned by youth.
Reports said that an army officer even showed a notebook to the elders claiming they are in the area for a census and not for cordon and search operation, however, youth still attacked the vehicles, forcing soldiers to retreat from the area.
Clashes also erupted at Bonpora area of the town.
Meanwhile, hundreds of students on Saturday clashed with government forces in central Kashmir’s Chadoora as they hit the roads raising slogans.
Witnesses said that government forces fired tear smoke canisters to disperse stone pelting students creating chaos in the area.
The clashes were going on till the filing of this report.
